“We all possess an inner glow. It stands as our strength in times of struggle. Whether you’re the one in the midst of a fight or simply supporting a loved one from the sideline, we all need to discover our glow. I want OUR GLOW PROJECT to be one of the largest socially connecting experiences this world has ever experienced.”
- CHARLES MITCHELL JR. , FOUNDER
WHAT IS “OUR GLOW PROJECT?”
OGP is a organization of photographers that use rare techniques with UV light and reactive material to such light to produce dynamic and innovative portraits of those who suffer from both physical and mental diseases. The art therapy project will be used as a charitable resource to help children, teens and adults who are currently experiencing, are prone to, or have a history of psychological or physical trauma, who have subsequently lost hope, confidence and a piece of their identity. The program supports the developmental, social, and expressive needs of all ages, genders and families experiencing illness and hospitalization.
Creating this artwork is a common way to escape from stress and illness or disability. It can be used a symbolic language and with the help of an art therapist, the child or adult deciphers the meaning of the picture and discusses the underlying issues that inspired the artwork.
OGP is a for-profit, social enterprise venture that has a stated goal of performing a socially beneficial purpose, not maximizing income. Our goal is to establish high levels of accountability and transparency for donors by sustaining our program and contribute a high level of our revenue to programs and services rather than administrative or fundraising costs.
